MOSCOW, Jul 4 (PRIME) -- The Energy Ministry wants Russia to occupy 25% of the global coal market in 2050 and to remain one of the three top coal exporting countries of the world, Pavel Bobylev, head of the ministry’s coal industry department, said on Monday during a session of the energy committee of the parliament’s lower chamber State Duma.
“We have set the goal to remain among the top three largest exporters of coal in the world. We are third right now. There are Australia, Indonesia, and we. Russian coal accounts for 18% of the global market, and we have set the goal of taking 25% of the global coal market in 2050,” he said.
